Festival Archipel — Sound sculptures in the Jardin

During Festival Archipel 2026 in Geneva, Martin Spühler's sound sculptures are presented in the Jardin as a freely accessible sound installation — throughout the entire festival.

On display are, among others, the Stichorgel, in which a tube immersed in water produces a flute-like tone, and the Tropfsäulen, where water drops on metal tongues set tuned corrugated-iron columns sounding. A homage to a pioneer of experimental lutherie.

With heartfelt thanks to the artist's family, in particular to Annemarie Spühler.

Insight — Sound sculptures at Hotel Furkablick

The Centro di Cultura e d'Arte Ascona (CCAA) invited audiences to an afternoon high up on the Furka Pass: in the hall of the historic Hotel Furkablick, Martin Spühler's monumental sound sculptures were brought to life — struck, rubbed and bowed, they unfolded a sound panorama from bell-bright to thunderously deep.

With Pit Gutmann and Matthias Brodbeck (percussion). A performance between sensory perception and artistic vision, rounded off by small culinary delights.

Kosmos Martin Spühler — Mini Festival & Finissage

To close the exhibition «Kosmos Martin Spühler» at Kunstraum Kreuzlingen, the hall was once more transformed into a sound space: companions performed on the sculptures, a children's programme invited active participation, and the film «Klangbildhauer Martin Spühler – Eine Reise durch das Land der Schwingungen» (66 min, 2024) by Arthur Spirk and Martin Spühler was screened.

With Annemarie Spühler, Pit Gutmann, Peter A. Schmid and Matthias Brodbeck.

During the exhibition, workshops with school pupils also took place — drawing in front of the sound objects, conversations with Annemarie Spühler and joint exploration of the sounds.
